Sofoklis papanikolau

Chief Executive Officer

Sofoklis has been the CEO of Molgas since December 2023. Prior to that he was the founder and CEO of Blue Grid, a downstream LNG and clean fuels supply and distribution company based in Athens, Greece. Molgas acquired Blue Grid in 2023, following which acquisition Sofoklis joined Molgas. He started his career as a Management Consultant in the London office of the Monitor Group (now Monitor Deloitte) and worked in the shipping industry for a few years following that. He holds a BA in Economics from Brown University, and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Fernando Sarasola

Chairman

Fernando Sarasola has been the CEO of Molgas from December 2007 to 2023 becoming Chairman of the Board from 2024. He started his career in the banking industry as responsible of Project Finance in Banco Santander and Bank of Scotland and worked in Private Equity following that. He bought a majority stake in Transmol Company (origin of Molgas) and incorporated in 2020 Infravia as main shareholder help the growth of the Company. He holds significant participations in different non competing companies of the energy sector. He holds a BA in Economics from Complutense University, and an MBA from Spanish Business School.

Coca bachelard, Arnaud

Chief Financial Officer​

Arnaud Coca is CFO of Molgas. His responsibilities include all aspects of financial management and strategy of Molgas.

With a distinguished career in the energy and infrastructure sectors, he brings over 15 years of specialized finance management experience. Prior to joining Molgas, Arnaud served as CFO for Velto, Controlling Director for X-Elio and CFO for Plenitude Renewables. Arnaud holds a Master Degree in Finance, International Finance, from CUNEF University and a Bachelor in Business Administration from University of the Basque Country (UPV).

Romeo montes, Javier

Chief Legal Officer

Javier joined Molgas in 2015, assuming the lead of the legal and compliance role within the Group. With 20 years of experience, he started his career in a top tier Spanish law firm (Uría Menéndez), working in its corporate law and litigation departments. Before joining Molgas, he was a senior lawyer in the legal department of one of the biggest Spanish cement companies, acquiring a deep understanding of the industrial, energy and mining sector. He holds a degree in Law (Universidad de Burgos) and a Master of Laws (LLM) in Instituto de Empresa. He is currently studying a degree in History and Geography in the UNED.

Menchero fabian, Juan FCO

Chief Operating Officer​

Juan (COO) has forged a distinguished career in the Cryogenic Gases sector and, more recently, at Molgas Energía SAU. Throughout his tenure, he has assumed various leadership roles, including Logistics, Commercial, Technical, and International Business Development, and has been actively involved in M&A processes. He holds degrees in Chemical Engineering and Business Administration from Madrid.

Chief QHSE Officer​

Cristina holds a degree in Environmental Sciences and has over 15 years of experience in sustainability and QHSE, implementing international standards in projects across five continents. With multiple master’s degrees and an MBA, she was recognized as the Best Executive Student of 2021-2022, reflecting her commitment to continuous improvement. Her career is distinguished by her specialization in critical infrastructures such as gas, water, and energy. Additionally, she has developed technological tools to monitor sustainability and QHSE, ensuring compliance with key international standards.

Romero rodriguez, Jaime

EMD Energy​

Jaime joined Molgas in November 2023 as Executive Managing Director Energy. Jaime brings to the company more than 23 years’ experience in the gas industry. He has served as Trading Director for Union Fenosa Gas for almost 20 years, 12 of them appointed as member of the Shareholder Management committee of Qalhat LNG, Naturgy and Pavilion complete his experience in the gas industry. Jaime has also taken the role of external advisor to big gas consumers. Jaime holds a PDD from IESE Business School and Mining Engineer from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid

Ieltxu Carcar

Chief human resources officer​

Ieltxu joined Molgas in May 2025 as Chief Human Resources Officer. He brings more than 20 years’ experience in Human Resources, providing in-depth knowledge of HR strategic and operational management across the five continents. Among others, He served as Human Resources Manager in Brazil, Human Resources Director of APAC (China) or Global HR Transformation Manager at Siemens Gamesa, as well as International Human Resources Director at Saur. During his career, Ieltxu has always kept a supportive approach to business in high-demanding growth plans, from mid to large-scale operations in industrial environments. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a master’s in human resources management.

Alexandros Lagakos​

Managing Director SEE (southern Europe)​

Alex is the Managing Director SEE of Molgas Group, the leading downstream LNG and clean fuels supplier in Europe, present in more than 16 European countries today.

In the past, he has held the positions of Managing Director (Blue Grid, acquired by Molgas Energy Holding), Freight Trader and Market Strategist (Thenamaris Ships Management), Senior Gas Analyst and Business Developer (Shell Energy Europe), Risk Analyst (Gazprom) and Energy Economics Consultant (Mott MacDonald).

Alex is a co-founder of the Greek Energy Forum and a member of the UN Gas Experts of United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). He holds an MEng in Electrical Engineering (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and an MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures (Imperial College London).

Anders Torp Rod

Managind director molgas nordics​

Anders Torp Rod was appointed Managing Director Molgas Nordics in December 2024. Prior to this appointment he served as Chief Executive Officer of Gasnor, a wholly-owned Molgas company. Prior to joining Gasnor in September 2023, Mr Rod held key leadership roles in Caera, Gasum and Teekay shipping. Mr. Rod holds a Master of Arts, International Business from London Metropolitan University and a Bachelor, Business and administration from the Norwegian School of Management. Mr. Rod is 45 years old and a residing in Norway.
