Avaldsnes, Norway – October 14, 2025. Molgas Energy Group has acquired a 60% stake in Biogass Energi AS, a Norwegian company that owns three Liquefied Compressed Biogas (LBG) refueling stations located in Rudshøgda, Seljord, and Aksdal (Tysvær municipality). This strategic acquisition significantly strengthens Molgas’ presence in the Nordic region, underscores its commitment to driving the transition towards emission-free heavy transport, and firmly positions the company as a leading player in the bioLNG road transport market across the Nordics.

“Biogas is a key solution for eliminating emissions from heavy transport. It offers substantial CO₂ reductions, is reliable, and can be deployed immediately. This acquisition marks an important step toward building a unified Nordic and European network,” said Anders Torp Rød, Managing Director, Molgas Nordics.

“Molgas’ ownership brings strength and new opportunities. We believe biogas is one of the most effective solutions for reducing emissions in heavy transport—it delivers climate benefits, supports a circular economy, and creates local value,” said Fredrik Christiansen, Managing Director, Biogass Energi AS.

Knapphus Energi and Smea will remain shareholders in Biogass Energi AS and continue to play an active role in advancing biogas as a sustainable fuel in Norway.

The three stations open strategic transport corridors from east to west and along the E39 coastal highway, integrating seamlessly into the national infrastructure Molgas is developing. This expansion aligns with the Group’s broader ambition to connect Norway to its growing European network.

Molgas currently operates a European network of more than 140 proprietary and partner service stations, offering LNG, CNG, LBG, and CBG. Its strategic objective is to build a 100% biomethane-based supply network across Europe, enabling the decarbonization of freight and passenger transport while delivering cost-effective and scalable energy solutions.

This expanded footprint further consolidates Molgas’ position as a pan-European leader in downstream LNG and LBG solutions, serving a diverse portfolio of industrial, road transport, and marine customers with unmatched reliability, safety, and sustainability.
